DR Congo: Wild locals from Mambasa create perfect harmony with their environment | RFE1-NEWS

The RFE1NEWS.ORG has devoted a second series of photo reports on wild grasshopures and other forest species from Mambasa territory in Ituri in the east of the Democratic Repgublic of Congo, from this Saturday, August 23, 2025.

<< Wild locusts are omnivorous or carnivorous insects, feeding on plants, other insects, or both, and living in natural environments such as fields and meadows.

They have long antennas, powerful rear legs to jump, and a body divided in mind, thorax and abdomen.

The females can be identified by their Oviscapte, an organ in the shape of a saber used to lay the eggs in the ground >>.
