DR Congo : on the occasion of the recent celebrations of World Forests and Rivers Days, Maiko National Park highlights its essential role in protecting a largely intact tropical rainforest and the rivers that nourish the Congo Basin

These interconnected ecosystems are a cornerstone of biodiversity, contribute to climate regulation, and support the livelihoods of local communities.

Through the continued commitment of field teams, partners and strong collaboration with neighboring communities, the Park works daily to safeguard these strategic natural resources.

These celebrations serve as a reminder of the importance of strengthening collective efforts to ensure the sustainable protection of this globally significant natural heritage for present and future generations.
