DR Congo : the fight against poaching of protected species in the MAIKO National Park is producing tangible results on the ground | RFE1-NEWS

The Great Anti-Poaching Net at Maiko
last week produced palpable results on the ground.

The seizure was transferred to the park’s Headquarters (HQ) and cremated in accordance with current standards.

Anti-Poaching teams from Maiko National Park carried out a major raid by intercepting a large shipment of bushmeat intended for illegal trade.

<< This operation illustrates the professionalism and constant vigilance of our Rangers in protecting the exceptional biodiversity of Maiko in the DRC >>.

Furthermore, the Maiko Park also highlights the need to support its monitoring efforts, strengthen collaboration with state services and increase subsistence alternatives for local communities, in order to reduce pressure on wildlife.
