DR Congo : Climate Change, after a rainy week, traces of damage are visible in Butembo in North Kivu | RFE1-NEWS

In Butembo, one of the cities of the Democratic Republic of Congo ( DRC ) located in greater North-Kivu in the Eastern of the country, observed a very rainy week.

6 civilians lost their lives in the commercial town of Butembo on October 30, 2025 during heavy rain which fell before midday on Thursday, October 30 >>.

The incident occurred in the Muthiri district near Vatholya in the commune of Bulengera.

According to John Kameta, the dead people were fleeing the rain in a house which fell on them and among these 6, there are 3 other people living in this house.

Along it, the plots next to it have been enormously destroyed by the overflow of rainwater.
